Hotel Le Agavi

At Le Agavi, the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Their service was warm and went above and beyond. The rooms were beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, with thoughtful details that suited the setting. And those panoramic views were breathtaking every day. We had an incredible stay and can’t wait to return. If you want an unforgettable, beautiful getaway, this is it.

It was the people at Hotel La Agavi who made our stay feel special. There was a genuine warmth from everyone we met, including Melania, Elisabetta, and the rest of the team. Giuseppe took great care of us at breakfast, and Ciro made the cooking class fun and memorable. Chef Alberto made incredible food, and he and Vito helped make my birthday dinner feel special. Sonia, the manager, was thoughtful, attentive, and invested in making our stay memorable. Her recommendations were spot on. For my 30th birthday, she personally arranged balloons, petals, and lighting in our room. It was one of the most beautiful setups we’ve seen, and felt genuinely personal. The setting is stunning too, but we left thinking about the people as much as the hotel. We’d recommend it without hesitation.

By far my worst “5 star” hotel experience. We paid for shuttle pickup from the city back to the hotel, but there was only one shuttle per hour and multiple families had to wait their turn. It was so inconvenient, and reception didn’t resolve the problem. The bigger issue was the insane number of bugs in our rooms. My family was staying across three rooms, and everyone was complaining about mosquitoes and ants all over the bathrooms. It made showering impossible, especially because I’m very afraid of bugs. It also made me wonder how clean the rooms and beds really were. I called reception and, 20 minutes later, no one had come to help. Getting to and from the city takes so much time and effort that it’s totally not worth it if the hotel can’t even provide sanitation. I’m not coming back.

The private beach setup was easily the best part, and the views and complimentary breakfasts were great too. We enjoyed our time here, but for a hotel charging over $1500 USD a night and claiming 5 stars, I expected more. The star system doesn’t really make sense to me anyway. The concierge was fairly useless, and there weren’t any complimentary services. At hotels at this price, I’d expect a free drop-off and pickup. We were told about the water shuttle, but only found out it cost $25 a ride after taking it twice. The pool food wasn’t good, and the beach food was slightly better but still not great. If Il San pietro were available for a similar price, I’d probably choose that. The hotel was nice, but the price and supposed 5 stars set higher expectations.
