Casa Marina is a small, quaint private villa on a terrace with pleasant views. From the balcony facing the garden, you can reach over and pick an orange from the trees. The room suited the surroundings, with a nice design, everything clean, and all I needed. There’s a little shared kitchen stocked with basic breakfast foods. You need to take a bus to the main part of Positano, but it’s no hassle. The owner was very friendly and gave great recommendations. Positano hotels can be expensive, so this is a lovely, inexpensive villa to stay in.

The place is beautiful, well maintained, and full of thoughtful details. Breakfast is included and quite complete, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. Marina was a wonderful host, very kind and attentive. Getting there takes planning. It’s in the upper part of Positano, and the bus runs once an hour and only takes cash. A taxi is another option, but quite expensive. We were young and energetic, so we walked: about 30 minutes downhill with lots of stairs, and the climb back took considerably longer. If you’re going up at night, it’s best to plan ahead and take the bus, since missing the last one leaves only a taxi. The place is beautiful and worth the trip, but keep its location in mind if you’re not ready for so much walking.

There wasn’t much contact with the host, but the place had everything we needed. It’s near Nocelle, well away from Positano’s hustle and bustle.

The hills were the only downside since it’s up high, though we didn’t walk much and only took the bus now and then. The service was friendly and personal, and breakfast was great. Everything else was perfect.
