The village is lovely and peaceful, and the staff were so welcoming and caring. They even left bottles of water outside our door so we could stay hydrated.

That checkout was the most shameful of my life. We had booked two rooms, and only one came with an air conditioning remote. We were meant to have breakfast, then head home, but the manager was waiting downstairs and kept implying that I had stolen it, as though I had any use for it. We told him several times we didn't have it, but he wouldn't stop. He was mainly directing this at two women. When my father arrived, he acted as if he was only asking a question.

Everything seemed fine until payment, when the owner accused us of taking the air conditioning remote and said in a threatening way that he was going to get angry. Shameful. They're poor.

You really need a car here. The guesthouse is family-run, with clean rooms and a generous, good breakfast. The hosts are friendly and very helpful, though they speak only Italian.

I've never seen a manager behave like that, ranting, swearing at customers, and threatening them. Stay away.
