The Reef House

The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and gave us useful information about the apartment. A special thanks to the manager’s father, who was a big help. We stayed three nights as two couples, and there was plenty of room for a peaceful break. The ceilings are high, the rooms generously sized, and there are two bathrooms next to a large dining room. The building is right by the sea, a lovely place to spend evenings listening to the waves. A long balcony wraps around the apartment, though the busy road nearby can make it noisy. Private parking is at least a 10-minute walk away. The apartment is pleasant for exploring the area, but it needs major maintenance, especially the dated bathroom fittings, which don’t always work properly. Some of the mattresses also need to be re-finished for a good night’s sleep.

The best part was waking up to a view over the Gulf of Pozzuoli. Everything was very clean, and the atmosphere was friendly and family-friendly. The young owner was welcoming. Our room was large, with two balconies, and breakfast was abundant, served in a room overlooking the sea. A few more little touches in the decor and it would deserve a fifth star.

The sea was excellent throughout my stay, and the location is right on the water. Go down the stairs and you’re on the rocks. I got a great welcome, and the staff were kind, helpful, and very good at suggesting places to see.

A beautiful place and a handy base for visiting the whole coast without using your own car. The person running it was very available, knew the area well, and could recommend places to visit along with historical details.
