The setting was beautiful and the view was excellent, with nothing to complain about there. But this visit gets two stars from me. The menu was very limited, just two first courses and two mains, plus the cured meat and pickle appetizer with Russian sauce. We weren’t given a menu or any idea of the prices, or whether there were alternatives, so we had to just trust them. Then we saw other dishes going to nearby tables and wondered if we could have chosen something else. The wait was long. I think the appetizer was packaged, and the pauses between courses dragged on too, so we never got a second course. My first visit here was a good experience, though. I hope the next one is much better. I’m confident.

The staff were incredibly kind, and the service was exceptional. We had a truly excellent dinner with very generous portions, and the tiramisu was excellent too. The Nutella tart was the only letdown: we weren’t convinced it was Nutella, though it was still very good. Outside, the view was magnificent even in the rain and fog. I can imagine it’s lovely in better weather.

It’s a popular, well-organized club and a handy stop for breakfast or a quick break on a walk. The downside is that service can get very slow and unpleasant when it’s busy. Still, it’s a great club.

For four of us, we paid €20 each for a platter of cured meats and cheeses, chestnut gnocchi with gorgonzola, panna cotta, and a bottle of Dolcetto. Good value, and the girl who served us was very kind. The place has a spectacular view over the valley. I’ll be back.
