Calacala rooms, restaurant & farm experience

The lemon salad was the standout for me: made the old way in a stone mortar with local spices and olive oil, using sweet, fragrant lemons with non-bitter white flesh. We loved it, and unfortunately didn't find another restaurant serving any kind of lemon salad when we continued to the Amalfi Coast, another lemon-growing area. All the other dishes we tried were delicious and distinctive too, and it was a meal we'll remember. The restaurant makes good use of its own local organic garden produce alongside seafood, and the staff warmly explained the dishes and their specialties. They're charming, enthusiastic hosts. Finding this hidden garden takes a short climb uphill from the port, through the houses, but it's worth it for a special culinary experience, even in Italy. Thank you!

I haven't stayed overnight, so I can't say anything about the rooms. I had lunch at the restaurant by the pool, though. The garden, pool area, and restaurant were all lovely and relaxed. We tried the octopus salad and the tuna salad, and we enjoyed both.

Everyone at Calacala resort was so warm and welcoming. We had an amazing suite and a fantastic restaurant meal, plus great drinks to enjoy by the pool. The farm tour was lovely too, and you can really see how much care goes into the place. It's modern and upscale, a real gem. I'm very picky about hotels, and it exceeded all my expectations. We had the best 24 hours there. Such a magical place.

The location was good, quiet at night, and communication was good too. We got all the information we needed before arriving. The rooms were clean and well insulated against heat, but the walls between rooms are fairly thin and you can hear footsteps. I expected more of a farm feel and more sustainable amenities, especially on a small island. It looks much nicer in photos, though it is very insta worthy.
