Call before you arrive so the caretaker can meet you and let you in. Once inside, it feels like a medieval castle, with modern touches where they matter, including a beautiful new shower. The gentleman looking after the property is welcoming and keeps the grounds lovely. The seclusion and amenities make the price amazing. This is the most magical place I’ve ever experienced. Plan to come here with nothing else on your schedule, because you won’t need or want to leave. I wish I could give it ten thousand stars.

We enjoyed a pleasant stroll around the nicely renovated castle. The manor was closed to ordinary tourists, though.

We were very grateful when someone at this place, perhaps a guest but most likely the owner, let us take shelter in their kitchen during a terrible storm today. It was frightening, and their kindness meant a lot. Thank you so much. X
