Appartamenti Sant'Andrea

The quiet was exactly what we needed. We could hear the sea, wind in the pines and birds, and there was a lovely enclosed garden to enjoy the sun and sea air. Barbara welcomed us with a smile even though we arrived at midnight, later than agreed. The house felt like a warm little nest, with everything we needed, fresh-smelling linens and a spotless interior. The roomy bedroom and big bathroom were great, and the spacious living room and kitchen opened onto a terrace with sunshine all day and a sea view. There was also everything for a drink and breakfast the next morning. I'd go back tomorrow!

Dear Mr. PIERPAOLO DEL SORBO, we can only answer your unfair review this way because Google gives accommodation owners no other option. An email asking whether we had availability, without a quote or deposit, did not commit us to anything. If you really wanted to book with us, you could have reserved straight away on one of the well-known sites where we are listed, and where you likely found us. We're also wondering what inconvenience we caused by replying the day after your July 9th inquiry about four nights starting August 16th. Your review is completely at odds with the many people who actually know us and have stayed here. We're sorry this happened, though in the end we think things worked out well. We're glad we didn't meet you! Appartamenti Sant'Andrea

They tell you to email and say they'll send bank details for a transfer, but then they don't reply and book the room to someone else in the meantime. Not very honest, and courtesy doesn't seem to be part of the deal.

For the price, it's a modest deal, and the owners are very kind. The house is small but cozy, well furnished and arranged, with a lovely garden, barbecue, indoor parking and bicycles. It's just a five-minute walk to the sea. Since it's on the first floor, it may be awkward if you're traveling with an infant. Also, there's no bidet in the bathroom.
