Bed and Breakfast La Contea

The view was lovely, and the place is right on the beach. That's the only reason I gave it two stars. The property has clearly seen better days and needs refreshing. The host was very rude. When we booked by phone, nobody said we had to arrive by a certain time. Then at 5 pm she called and told us to come as soon as possible because she had other things to do. We did our best and arrived at 6 pm, but she came out and told us to hurry through check-in because she had to leave. Then we found out she wouldn't give us an invoice or even a receipt. She insisted on cash, saying, “if you don’t have cash find a way to get some cash because I cannot accept card”. We paid 120€, the same price as on Booking, but got no receipt, invoice, or option to pay by card. When we asked for something savory for breakfast, the way she insulted us was indescribable. In short, she said that in Italy we should obey Italian ways and eat like Italians, meaning “great quality sweets”. The breakfast was then the worst I've had in Italy: supermarket croissants still in their plastic bags, old fruit, the cheapest toast and awful marmalade.
