Phi Hotel Sighientu

The near-zero Wi-Fi signal was our main frustration, and we had to use our own data. The hotel was a good base for exploring southern and central Sardinia. From every angle, the exterior looked lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our sea-view room had a charming regional style and was perfectly clean. Breakfast and dinner were satisfactory, though the meals may feel repetitive to some. We didn't try the spa or the outdoor pool, whose water was cold.

We chose this resort for its peaceful spot by a marina, outdoor areas, and advance-booking price. The location was excellent, and booking early made the value good. At a higher rate, I wouldn't have given it the same score. The beach, pool, playground, and poolside bar are a great combination, and the grounds are well maintained. When the weather is nice, this is the resort's best feature. The private beach was calm and not too crowded. The spa was a letdown. I had two treatments that felt uninspired, and the therapist never checked whether what she was doing felt okay. The massage room was very basic, without lighting or atmosphere. That was a poor experience for a place advertising “luxury massage.” At the pool bar, the setting is peaceful and some staff are nice, but a few seemed lazy and sometimes kept chatting before serving us. In October, they had drinks only and no food. Breakfast also disappointed: plenty of options, but low quality, including canned fruit, and much the same every day. The rooms were okay, though dated. There was a fridge, but little else in the way of amenities. Staff cleaned daily, sometimes very early, around 9am. Our scores: outdoor space 5/5, value 5/5, spa 2/5, bar 4/5, breakfast 2/5, rooms 3/5, location 5/5. For us, the place works if you come for the location, price, and outdoor space and accept the shortcomings elsewhere.

We only stayed for 2 nights and wished we'd had longer. The setting is beautiful, as are the hotel, pool, and beach. The breakfast buffet was thoughtfully arranged, and the hotel has great amenities. The pool bar wasn't serving its usual snack and lunch options while we were there, which was disappointing. The only thing on offer was a pretty sad ham and cheese sandwich, and after the breakfast buffet we didn't want another buffet for lunch. Still, it's a fantastic hotel in a beautiful spot.

The service deserves special mention. Ms. Anna handled our booking flawlessly and was extremely professional and organized. The animation team kept activities energetic and fun, but it was still easy to relax when we wanted, and there was plenty to do around the hotel. Our stay exceeded expectations. Everything was well organized, from the spotless, well-kept rooms to the large pool and the hotel beach right next door. The all-inclusive food was tasty and varied, and we thought the hotel offered great value. For a 4-star place, it deserves a higher rating, mainly because of the wonderful service. Highly recommended!
