Hotel Ratschingserhof

So much to do inside, and they provide lots of information about things to see outside. It's an amazing option if you're traveling with kids. Breakfast was amazing and dinner was great too. Definitely recommend the half board, it was worth the money.

The public areas have been renovated nicely, and the wellness area is unusually large for a small family establishment. It includes a salt pool, several saunas, and a rooftop Jacuzzi. The buffet presentation was lovely. Dinner had a huge salad and appetizer bar with plenty of meat and seafood options, though the seafood wasn't fresh. That's uncommon compared with similar four-star hotels nearby. They clearly aim for fine dining. I'd rate dinner and breakfast 4.2 out of 5, and the food overall used very high-quality local products. Service in the area was good. It may not compare with southern Italy, but we know this part isn't typical Italy. They gave us homemade bread when we checked out, and it was the best we'd had in a while. Our room seemed to be the most basic and hadn't been updated. The bathroom was very old-fashioned, and the mattress was uncomfortable and made noise when we sat on it. There were no room amenities. Even the two glasses were different styles and shapes, and the shampoo and body wash weren't great. Overall, the room felt more like a three-star one.

The setting is beautiful and made for a peaceful escape. We spent four nights at Hotel Ratschingerhof, and everything was perfect. Breakfast was delicious, dinner was exceptional, and the pool and spa were relaxing and well maintained. We couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended!

The spa is gorgeous and very well cared for, and the rooms are lovely and super clean. The food was delightful, and the owners and staff are amazing. We've traveled all over, and this is one of our favorite stays. It feels like home here. We'll be back.
