We slept well despite the distant music from Marina's clubs, and the beach and some terrific restaurants are genuinely close by. The apartment was spotless, with not a chipped cup or plate to be found, and everything was laid out well and kept to a high standard. When the gas ran out, it was fixed within about an hour. We’d rent it again, quite possibly.

There’s been a noticeable decline since previous years. The services are poor: the air conditioner leaks, and so do the refrigerator and dishwasher. There’s dust on the ornaments, and sometimes the water runs very weakly.

The apartment was perfect, and Erica and her husband do a great job. Everything was close by, so I had a lovely, comfortable holiday and could get away from it all.

The hotel is far from the center of Marina di Ragusa and has no reception. For a pharmacy or breakfast at a bar, you need to drive, and there’s no parking on site either. I’d expected more. Check-in and checkout times weren’t flexible, so coming from the north, we couldn’t enjoy even half a day at the beach with the car full of luggage. Breakfast was meager, despite what I’d read. There was just a hairdryer in a handbag, with no beach amenities or special offers. I was advised to stay at the Baja, which I strongly advise against.
