Hotel Villa del Lauro

I was extremely disappointed with Vila del Lauro. The receptionist was very rude, wouldn't honor our Booking reservation, and refused to help with our luggage even after I explained that we hadn't known we needed to pay for it. I'd never encountered that at a hotel before, and it made my trip very difficult. The lack of professionalism and empathy means I'll never stay there again.

We were disappointed and felt the experience was poor for the price. The main part of the hotel looked lovely, though we didn't see a bedroom. We stayed in a small annex across the road, which felt like a neglected spare room. It had only one bedside table, no bedside lights, no working safe, no robe or slippers as described, and no water glasses. There was a constant low buzzing noise. When I reported it, the receptionist thought it was probably a fridge and said it would probably switch off soon, but it didn't. We also ran out of hot water during the second shower on the second day. Breakfast was good, but getting hot drinks served and waiting for refills was cumbersome. Staying across the road made us feel like the poor relations.

Avoid this place. The sink didn't work, and the bathroom was a biohazard despite my repeated complaints. I'd heard good things about breakfast, but the quality, service, and nutrition were very disappointing. The pool area was terrible and unclean, so I wouldn't recommend using it.

The villa was exceptional, and the breakfast was amazing. Special thanks to the hotel for helping us get our things back after we left them behind. Amazing service! 5⭐️
