I Carizzi

Carmella was such a helpful owner and shared lots of tips about the town, which made me feel like a local rather than a visitor. I don’t speak Italian and she doesn’t speak English, but Google Translate helped us get to know each other. It reminded me of the original idea behind Air B and B, meeting someone local who shares their town. That feels mostly lost now, with so many absent corporate landlords, but this place was different. The apartment is gorgeous, bright, clean, and well maintained. Carmella left some nice drinks in the fridge to welcome us. We especially appreciated the AC and elevator, which you can’t take for granted in old buildings. I can’t imagine a more perfect stay!

The location worked perfectly for me. The bus and train station weren’t far, and Piazza dei Cappuccini was just down the street. There’s a supermarket nearby and a great cafe close by, Caffè Sicilia. The person who helped me was very helpful, and the accommodation was wonderful, clean, and cosy, with the option to cook for yourself.

Donatella and Carmela are wonderful hosts. They take care with the little details, and it really makes a difference. Highly recommended.

Loved it, such an adorable place.
