The room was lovely and recently renovated, and the panoramic view over the old town was a five star view. The kitchen area was very nice too, with a cheerful plant bringing a bit of life to the place, and the capsule machine made excellent coffee. But check-in was at 1600, with no flexibility, and the person there seemed in a rush to get back to her home or work. Maybe the smile was just part of the job? I wondered because breakfast had no milk or milk substitute, which was a first for me at a B&B, and the tea box was completely empty. There were a few green tea bags, but no fresh fruit or anything fresh to eat. On this Sicily vacation, across six B&Bs so far, most had fresh cornetti. Surely a five star place would have had a better breakfast. The town is one of Sicily’s beautiful pearls and very much worth visiting while touring the island. Public parking was easy to find in October, the low season, but it isn’t included here and you have to park on the road. It’s a 10 to 15 minute walk down stairs to town, so I wouldn’t recommend it for handicapped people. There are stairs inside the B&B as well.
