Terre di Cavalusi Relais

We felt at home straight away. The place is beautiful, exceptionally clean and tidy, with lovely details throughout. Daniel & Andrea were kind hosts and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and the area. Our suite was wonderful and comfortable, and the kitchen is a dream. The rooftop sunset was stunning. We’d love to come back soon, especially if you enjoy nature, privacy and comfort.

When we came back a year later, we spent four unforgettable days here with our family. We had booked every room, so the relais became our own holiday home for the stay. The property is beautifully cared for, clean and peaceful in the Ragusa countryside. It was just right for relaxing together and making memories we’ll treasure. We’d first stayed at Terre di Cavalusi a year before our wedding, looking for a base for the days before the big day. Andrea and Daniel made us feel at home right away, and their welcome and the setting convinced us we’d found the right place.

The pool is large and well maintained, and the adopted cats are there to greet you at check-in and check-out. There’s no sign for the masseria, though, and no reception. We stayed four nights, but our room was never cleaned and the towels weren’t changed. If one falls on the floor, you may have to wait until the next morning and hope one of the owners comes by to help. The toiletries amounted to three bottles of shower gel for four nights. Breakfast is arranged the day before, so pastries left out for 24 hours can be rubbery or hard by morning. The kitchen and pantry are available to guests, with packaged goods and a coffee machine always on hand. The place is beautiful, but it feels more like room rental than a relais, and the services didn’t feel relais-like to us. A relais combines a traditional stay with exclusive, high-quality service and attention to guests’ needs, and that wasn’t our experience. The price is typical of a relais. This is meant as constructive feedback for Andrea and Daniel: they may want to review what’s included or adjust the price to match the services offered.

The breakfast was amazing, and Andrea and Daniel were friendly and professional. I enjoyed both the service and my three days at the property. I’d gladly come back. Highly recommended!
