The remote location was a problem for us: the beach takes 20 minutes to reach on foot, and there are no shops or places to eat nearby. After a full day travelling with small children, Stefano couldn't suggest a local restaurant or shop. When my child became seriously ill, he also couldn't give us contact details for a doctor or emergency services. The villa itself was extremely dirty and clearly not being looked after. There were flies everywhere when we arrived, half-eaten cupcakes under the sofa, food wrappers, and thick dust. The showers were rusty and dirty, and the cushions and throws hadn't been washed. The kitchen utensils were old and unusable, including a mouldy coffee pot, an ancient food processor, and what looked like a 100-year-old microwave. For a three-week stay, Stefano provided just one set of bedding, which seemed very unusual. Checkout was another bad experience. Stefano, his wife, and the cleaners showed up 10 minutes early and pressured us to leave exactly on time, even though they could see us struggling with two toddlers. We felt watched and rushed. He accused us of breaking a door that was perfectly fine, apparently because he couldn't open it himself, and didn't apologise when he realised there was nothing wrong with it. He seemed all smiles at first, but his attitude changed quickly. I'm genuinely surprised by the positive reviews. A very disappointing stay.

The location was excellent, and I hope to come back. Inside and out, the villa is splendid and has every comfort. There’s a garden and a loggia at the front, furnished with outdoor seating and a table; at the back there’s another area with a large table and kitchenette, handy if you don’t want to use the main kitchen. The owner was extremely kind and welcomed us with traditional local products. I highly recommend it.

We were eight people at Villa Oliana and found it spacious, with all the comforts we needed. It’s in a quiet area, but still close to the seafront and beach. When we arrived, Stefano gave us cold drinks, watermelon, and scaccia ragusana, all complimentary. He was always available, attentive, and happy to share advice and suggestions. A dream vacation, and I highly recommend Villa Oliana. You won't regret it.

The location worked so well for us: Marina di Ragusa beach is a five-minute walk away, with two markets and several restaurants close by. Stefano was on hand with beach and restaurant tips, and even lent us umbrellas. He also left Ragusa-style scacce and Modica chocolate on the table when we arrived, and gave me his book as a birthday gift during our stay. Such a kind, thoughtful owner. Villa Oliana felt like a real home, tastefully furnished, comfortable, and functional. It has everything we needed for a holiday, including wi-fi, a dishwasher, washing machine, and even Netflix. Everything was perfect. I definitely recommend it!

The patio and garden are well kept, and the villa is beautiful, very clean, and furnished nicely. It has all the appliances. The owner was incredibly kind and spoiled us with so many thoughtful touches that really impressed me. I highly recommend it!
