Getting there was the hard part: we left our car on the highway because our vehicle couldn’t manage the route, and they picked us up in a jeep. Once there, we had a wonderful lunch with friends on a visit in May several years ago. The place is enchanting, and both the meal and the setting were excellent. It’s an 18th-century villa, once owned by the Barons of Vagliasindi, now restored for tourist services. Set at 1,423 meters, it sits below Monte Colla at 1,611 meters. You can reach the mountain on foot, and the surrounding park’s centuries-old trees can be explored along the Giant Maple Trail.
