The hotel looks lovely from the outside, but inside it was horrible. My bathroom was dirty and had visible mold, which could be a serious health hazard. The bathtub was dirty and broken, as the pictures show. Corners throughout the room were dirty, and there were holes in the walls and closet. The closet didn't close properly. Paint was chipped off in many places, and both nightstands were unstable and falling apart, with missing paint too. The rooms are very old and unsuitable for internal guests, since there are no internal TV channels. When we raised these problems, reception denied us a room change and said the hotel was fully booked. I don't believe that was true, as I estimate it was only about 50% full. I find that behavior unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. It felt more like a 2 star one. They also don't have enough parking for all the guests, so some have to park far from the Hotel.

The Europa Hotel was a comfortable, uneventful base for my recent stay in Genoa. Its location was handy, with a short walk to the nearest metro and plenty of shops and restaurants close by. The room was clean and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom, and the air conditioning worked well during the hot Genoa summer. Staff were friendly and efficient, and the facilities were solid: a decent gym, a rooftop terrace with nice city views, and an extensive breakfast buffet with plenty of options. The furniture and fixtures in the room were starting to show their age, and the TV and minibar weren't anything special. The design also felt generic and lacked much character or charm. It wasn't an especially exciting or memorable stay, but the hotel delivered what it promised and was a convenient, relaxing place to explore the city from. A dependable, no frills choice in Genoa.

The hotel is lovely and right in the centre of Rapallo. We didn’t hear any construction noise indoors. The spa and pool were the letdown for us, they’re tiny for what the stay costs.

Those restaurant waitresses were the highlight for me. They were patient and kind, even while working for minimum wage, and I loved them. PAY THOSE GIRLS MORE!! The hotel’s handy for the station and the sea, both just a couple of minutes away, but the nearby construction was really irritating, especially early in the morning. Guests should at least be told about it. Our room was okay, though its windows faced the worksite and the noise was awful.

We slept well and barely heard a thing. The room and bathroom were spacious by European standards, and everything was very clean. Breakfast was delicious, and the lobby and bar are great. The staff were friendly and attentive. Michele at the hotel bar makes the best Negronis!
