The hosts were the best part of our stay at França and Fabio’s villa. Franca was great to communicate with, and when we got stranded in Portofino one night because the taxi situation was awful, Fabio immediately offered to pick us up and bring us back. What amazing service. Grazie Mille! The villa was a comfortable size for our family of four, with soft beds, strong air conditioning, and a great shower and laundry machine. My son especially loved having the pool to ourselves, where we could float around and play football.

The owners, who live in a nearby house, were friendly, discreet, and always there if we needed help. Their warm welcome made us feel at home from the first day. We stayed at la Villetta for 10 days with our two teenagers and will come back, there’s still so much to discover. The house was clean when we arrived, well organised, and had enough space for four. Towels and bed linen were plentiful and good quality. The beds were fantastic, the Nordic-style blankets were high quality, the heating worked perfectly, and the big Italian shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We especially enjoyed a siesta on the lounge chair in the little patio outside the parents’ room. The green scenery and gorgeous Bamboo park around the house were lovely. The pool views mix the sea, bamboos, a palm tree, and the wild forest of the Portofino Peninsula, with enough sun loungers. The pool isn’t heated, but warms up quickly in good weather. We had unusually bad weather for that time of year, but the Wi-Fi was fast enough for Netflix or iMovies when needed. They’d left coffee and tea, bread for breakfast, and a nice bottle of Prosecco for our first evening. We arrived late without time to shop, and that was enough to help us relax. Toast and Nutella worked for the kids the first morning, and the comfortable beds let us sleep in. A small store 400 meters away has what you need for daily groceries without taking the car. There’s also a nearby bus station, though we didn’t use it. Golf Rapallo is only 700 meters away, as are tennis and horse riding. Portofino, Chiavari, Santa Margherita Ligure, Sestri Levante, and other lovely places around Rapallo are worth visiting. We even managed to arrange scuba diving in the Reserve of Portfofino Bay. A lovely, well-kept house with a great layout and everything well equipped. It’s well placed for Rapallo and nearby towns, as well as hiking and cycling.
