Hotel Villa Fraulo

We had a very enjoyable lunch here during our Amalfi Coast tour in April 2024. The food and drinks were reasonably priced, and the service was very good. The hotel wasn't fully open yet since it was still early in the season, but the views were hard to beat.

The hotel is lovely, with clean rooms, a good breakfast and an amazing infinity pool. It's right around the middle of Ravello, about a five-minute walk into town, and the bus stop for Amalfi is just steps from the entrance. The view from the restaurant is unreal, though I thought the prices were a bit high for what we got. That's just our opinion. Parking was also a hassle: I was told they'd sent instructions, but I never received them, so we drove around in circles for 15 minutes before calling reception. They take your car to another parking area a couple of streets away, and charge €30.00 a day, which honestly seems like a lot.

The breakfast was some of the best food I had in Italy, and the Cappuccino was easily my favorite. The staff were funny and friendly, too. Our room at villa Fraulo felt fit for royalty, with a beautiful bathroom, and the hotel has incredible rooms and views throughout. Sitting on your own balcony and looking over Ravello has a peaceful feeling you don't quite get from the already stunning views elsewhere in town.

The staff were very nice and the location was good, but I wouldn't recommend Villa Fraulo. We paid over €530 a night for four nights while in Ravello for a wedding, expecting a decent room and some amenities. The hotel is advertised as 4 Stars, but I wouldn't rate it above 2. The rooms were extremely basic and badly in need of renovation. Sheets and towels were old and stained, there was no coffee machine or water in the room, and the balcony and hallways needed a serious cleaning. Breakfast wasn't inviting, and the breakfast room was dirty. The air conditioning could only be adjusted by the front desk, so we had to call them to change the temperature.
