Il Giardino Dei Limoni

The balcony and view were easily the best part of our stay, absolutely stunning. The place itself was very simply furnished, and getting there meant lots of walking uphill and downhill. We arrived very late and the staff kindly stayed up for us. But cleanliness wasn't great: the moka pot was unwashed with coffee grounds still in it, and the shower mat looked and felt dirty. I called beforehand about vegan breakfast options, and he kindly provided a carton of oat milk. Beyond that, breakfast was simple: pear, orange and bananas, cereal and the oat milk. The staff member was gruff, not the usual trained hospitality type. On arrival he assertively told us twice to sit on the couch while he spoke with us, which I found amusing. When we asked about a laundromat, he looked stressed and frustrated, then offered to wash our laundry in his machine, which I appreciated. We asked about a dryer and how to dry it, and he said we'd have to do that ourselves. When we asked whether he had a drying rack we could use, he got frustrated and said he'd already helped us, so that wasn't his problem. I don't blame him, but the staffing, facilities and infrastructure make the establishment seem underdeveloped.

The balcony is a lovely place to sit and take in the stunning bay view, and the area is peaceful. The room was clean, breakfast was included and the AC worked fine. The owners are friendly, though they speak almost no English. There is free parking along the street near the house where the room is. Just note there are lots of steps up to central Ravello, plus a few to reach the road where you can park. It's not a walk you'd want to do several times a day. We went up in the evenings and drove once. Ravello is a lovely village and, in my opinion, the nicest on the Amalfi coast.

Gregorio and Antonio were really kind and helpful hosts. We loved staying at Giardino dei Limoni and would definitely come back when we're in Ravello. The apartment had everything we needed and a perfect view of the coast.

Fantastic view, and they had everything we needed and even more. Little things like coffee, olive oil and biscuits were there for us. More than perfect!
