Hotel Cube

I paid 150€ per day and won't stay here again. There is no dinner at the hotel, and the breakfast was really poor, with very few choices for someone trying to eat healthily. In a place known for cheese, they served only one kind. Eggs and bacon came on the same plate every morning despite my request to have them separate. Staff wouldn't even let me take coffee to my room, and the iron I used burned my shirt. The rooms were okay, and the nights were very quiet, but those were the only two good things.

The staff were great, the rooms spacious and clean, and the food was good. We lost our sunglasses, but the staff found them and kept them until we came back. 👍

We had to move rooms twice, and the air conditioning didn't work in either one. The hallways were cooler than our room, which became intolerable in the morning once the sun came out. The night clerk at the front desk apologized, but said he wasn't a maintenance man. When I asked if others had complained, he said yes, it happens all the time.

The location is isolated. There's a restaurant and supermarket about 15 minutes away on foot, and town is a 15-minute drive if you have a car. There is a local bus. The rooms are very basic: no kettle or tea and coffee setup, only plastic cups, and no water unless you buy it. You can't refill water bottles in the bathrooms. Beds are basic, the pillows very flat, and there is only a plastic chair in the room. Outside, there are very few places to sit without smoke. If guests can't eat in their rooms, there should be space for takeaway meals; that was finally made available near the end of our stay. Breakfast is the only meal offered. After two days, it was the same old routine, and the €30 breakfast wasn't worth it for the gluten-free members of our group, who weren't accommodated. Breakfast staff were helpful to me, though others in our group had a different experience. Reception service also varied a lot: sometimes great, other times they made us feel unreasonable. We were a large group spending a lot, but after helping one small group order takeaway dinner, they wouldn't help anyone else with the language barrier. WiFi, air conditioning, fridge temperature, and cleaning also varied depending on the room, and many of us said the WiFi didn't work. Maybe it's fine for one or two business nights if your room has working WiFi. This is definitely not a place for children, families, or large groups.
