We stayed here in October with two families, two adults and two children. The village was calm and the beach only a few meters away. The apartment was well equipped, with a good kitchen, one full bathroom with a toilet, and a second separate toilet. Check with the owner whether the gas tank on the balcony has enough in it. Street parking is possible. Scala dei Turchi is accessible on foot, the Valley of the Temples is 16 minutes away by car, and there's a good pizzeria nearby in the village.

It's a beautiful piece of history, so go and see it without looking up spoilers. Take plenty of water if you visit in the morning, and don't worry too much about your shoes, I wore slippers and was comfortable. There's a lot of walking; seeing everything takes about 2 hours, depending on your pace and how long you spend looking at the sculptures. In summer, I'd avoid the hottest part of the day since most of the area is in the sun. If you can, go early or around sunset, it's beautiful. Tickets are 15 euros, or I think 9 euros for those under 23. Trust me, it's worth it.

Nature has made this place so beautiful, but people spoil it. Tourists cover the Scala with graffiti and dirt, and at Lido Rossello people leave rubbish all over the beach after eating and drinking there. Civilization seems a long way off. It's a shame to have such wealth right at your fingertips and then act as if you're poor.

The house is spacious and has plenty of comforts. It stays cool and gets a steady breeze, so it doesn't need air conditioning. The staff are always extremely helpful.
