Giangurgolo B&B

The only good thing was the owner’s kindness. The B&B was filthy: brown pillows without pillowcases, opened water bottles, hair on the towels, and dust. Everything else was awful.

Maybe I just got the wrong room. The location is exceptional, and the welcome, friendliness, and cleanliness were all good. But I’d read great reviews, so I may simply have been unlucky. In my room, the bed was badly made, with the base and feet showing. It was awful to get dressed there, though a bedspread would be enough to fix that. The fridge was off, and it would’ve been nice to have a bottle of water in it. The breakfast nook was nice, but the coffee machine needs cleaning. The bathroom was large, though the shower needs actual work. I wasn’t even sure whether to use it.

Raffaella was so kind, and I’ll definitely be back. The room was spacious, clean, and welcoming, with a lovely terrace and a library, plus all the amenities you need. The B&B is in a well-served part of Rende.

Mr. Oronzo’s exceptional kindness is what stands out most. I’ve been stopping here for years on trips to and from Sicily. The rooms and shared areas are very clean, and there’s reserved parking behind an electric gate. It’s right in the heart of town, near a nice shopping center.
