Hotel Negro

The hospitality was good.

Cenova is a lovely medieval village that’s been kept in good shape. The hotel itself is a small place built into an old structure, with a peaceful, intimate feel. We spent New Year’s Eve there away from the crowds, eating local food grown by the owners. It was all cooked well, and the wine, made on site, was excellent. The owners were friendly and attentive, and the cuisine was excellent too. If you like simple places where calm and well-being matter, you’ll find that here.

The setting is what makes this place special. It’s tucked into a clearing among old houses, with woodland all around and uphill paths and meadows nearby. Before long, you’re walking through the forest and coming across chapels dedicated to pilgrim saints. Devotion runs deep in this part of Liguria. It feels like a place in its own right, not just a hotel. The service was good and breakfast excellent. Enjoy your stay.

Luigi, the manager, is a wonderful person, and his long, passionate experience comes through in everything. You can feel the care in the hospitality and food. It’s a magnificent place, surrounded by nature and quiet.
