Hotel Grotticelle

Our room was spacious and had a great view. The staff were nice and very helpful, and reception gave us a note for free beach sunbeds when we asked about them. The sandy beach was great, and we liked the hotel pool too. Getting down the steep hill can be a drawback, though there’s a shuttle bus if the times work for you.

There’s a family atmosphere here, and I had a wonderful 8-day stay. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the food was good. Breakfast had a superb choice of sweet and savory items. My room was clean, tidy, spacious, and well maintained. The hotel is very close to a beautiful beach. I’ll definitely come back.

The sea view from our balcony made the holiday week feel magical, and the apartment-style room was far better than I expected after seeing bad reviews of places like this. Everything else was wonderful ❤️🇮🇹 Sunbeds were included. The hill down to the beach was steep, but it was fine for me and my boyfriend, though it could be hard for some people. Car transport runs up and down about 4 times a day. There should have been 1 cleaning and 1 fresh pair of towels included during the week.

We booked on the fly, just two days before leaving, for 7 nights. The room was comfortable and upstairs, with a sea view, even though the hotel was full. Staff were super friendly and helpful when we arrived. There’s a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner available, with a buffet appetizer, and we had a typical Calabrian evening. The restaurant on site is across the street, and self-catering is also an option. A second restaurant is down at the spectacular beach, about 2 minutes away by shuttle. They’ll take you even after hours. There’s an indoor pool with sun loungers and a bar. After dinner, evening entertainment runs for 2-3 hours, which suits people looking to relax and rest. Bars and ice cream parlors are within walking distance, and you can rent scooters and quads for excursions just before reaching the hotel. You can arrange trips by dinghy or ferry to the Aeolian Islands, Tropea, and other places, with transfers available if requested. The paid evening train to Tropea is very convenient. If the parking inside the building is full, there’s another lot below the residence, also part of the building.
