Hotel Diamond

The room service was perfect, and they were there to help with whatever we needed. The service was very good, and breakfast was amazing. It’s very close to the sea. Thanks so much!

Sometimes shooting stars are... The hotel is in a very good location, close to the beach, and breakfast had a good selection. I asked for a light cappuccino, though, and got a strong one. My room was clean, but there was an unidentifiable stain on the shower tray. The shower was small, even for someone small like me, and the bathroom tiles looked dated, maybe from the early 1990s. I also had to ask for shower gel. One 10 ml sachet seems far too little, even for a bald guy like me. At 9 square meters or slightly above, the room was about the minimum size for its category, though it felt even smaller. The perceived quality wasn’t what I’d expect of a 4-star hotel. The receptionist welcomed me well, though she seemed hesitant. The owner took over and was brusque and condescending. As a business owner myself, I think putting staff down in front of a customer reflects badly on the company. Breakfast starting at 7:30 didn’t work for me because I had to catch a plane. In every hotel I’ve stayed at, breakfast starts at 7:00, and I’d assumed the same here, so I sat with a book at the outdoor tables by the pool. The owner asked me to move so other guests wouldn’t see me and sit there too. The hotel doesn’t assign its own stars, the municipality does that on behalf of the Region. But I think the rating should be checked regularly and consider more than room size and amenities, including the quality of the materials. Thirty days ago I stayed in Valencia with my family for €150.00 a night, breakfast included from 7:00, for three people. It was a brand new mini apartment with two well-sized double bedrooms, two spacious bathrooms with large showers, and a small living room with an armchair and sofa. I’m sorry, but there’s no comparison.

I called this hotel on Friday to book 3 nights because I needed to stay in the area, and the rooms looked decent in the photos. I spoke on the phone with a woman who confirmed the booking. When I arrived, unloaded my bags and asked about it, they said there was no reservation under my name. I showed the women the call and explained I’d spoken with a woman. They made a call, then told me to leave and go to the other hotel, @royal, because they’d moved us there. I’ve travelled a lot, but I’ve never booked a 4-star hotel and ended up in a dump next door. I think this is serious, and it’s why people are leaving the Riviera these days. I won’t even get into the room or the quality of breakfast at the other hotel they sent us to!

The owner criticized and pressured me constantly from the first day. At meals, she told me I couldn’t stay at the table longer than 30 minutes, even when the room was completely empty at 7:30 in the morning. Whenever I went to get food, she scolded me about how much I was taking. It was humiliating and really upsetting. I was told dinner ran from 7:45 to 8:30 PM, but also that I had to be at the table at 7:45 sharp. If I was late, I got reminder calls in my room telling me to cancel dinner. I find that unacceptable for a place calling itself a 4-star hotel. The hotel has no pool of its own. To use the pool at the neighboring 3-star Hotel Royal, I had to pay €5 per hour. The rather dated bicycles were €3 per hour too, even though I’d been told when booking that these services were included. I stayed at Hotel Diamond in Riccione from August 20 to 27, 2024, and it was extremely disappointing and stressful. I strongly advise against it if you want a peaceful, respectful stay. A 4-star hotel should offer much better service and courtesy.
