Hotel Abner's

The lift is small and slow, but as I told my wife, we’re on vacation and have plenty of time. Aside from that, this was an amazing hotel, with a luxury feel and a frontal sea view. The food was special and delicious. Even if something on the menu wasn’t right for you, there was also a buffet with hundreds of tasty options. Room service was 10/10: everything was always clean and lovely, and they even looked after my child’s toys. The beach was nice, and there’s a nice bar at the bottom of the hotel. There’s also a monitored garage and lots of things you need during your stay. Ask reception if you need anything and you’ll get it. A big thank you for all the service, and best wishes from us.

I felt like I was living on a construction site. Water costs extra, there was no hair dryer, and the hotel management is lying.

The location is hard to beat: right on the beach with no street to cross, and directly beside bike and walking paths. It worked well for afternoon shopping and evening rides, and bikes were included. Thank you, Abner's! Our group, from both the US and Italy, was delighted with everything. You can dress up in a fancy dress and heels or keep it casual; the atmosphere is elegant without being pretentious. The whole place was clean, family-friendly, well staffed, and helpful. Everyone, from reception to the restaurant and housekeeping, was friendly and went out of their way to help. They even made a gorgeous birthday cake for our 3-year-old. The food was delicious at every meal, and even my picky Italian mother-in-law was happy. Our room was very spacious and clean, with the best closet and storage I’ve seen in any hotel. The bathroom had a full tub and shower, shelves for toiletries, fluffy towels, and an outlet for hair straighteners, which isn’t common. The air conditioner kept working fine even with 90 degrees outside.

The room service staff were the one bright spot; they were very helpful. The restaurant was closed, and amenities like bicycles weren’t available. There was major construction during our stay, but nobody mentioned it when we booked or at check-in. Our room was right next to the site, with very loud hammering at 5 p.m. When we complained straight after checking in, we were told, “we are full,” though that wasn’t true. We only got moved to the other side of the building after complaining again on day two. It was a very poor experience. Hotels MUST tell guests when construction is happening.
