Hotel Arlino

Breakfast was great, and the place was spotless and close to the beach. Room service was excellent too, but the staff really stood out for how helpful they always were. Thanks to everyone at Arlino.

Breakfast was broad and lovely, though the sausages looked unappetising and tasted just as bad. One decent sausage would be better than three awful ones. The staff were great overall, aside from the issue with the bedside light: I reported that it wasn’t working, was told someone would come within an hour, and it was still broken when I checked out the next day. They seem to expect guests to report things that don’t work. The bed was firm, but I still slept for ten hours. The shower was a bit cramped, and its temperature control points down where it catches your knees. They make a point of saying the rooms aren’t soundproof. I guessed that referred to the airport, about a 25-minute walk away, but I also heard a neighbour loudly hacking.

The location worked really well for getting around. It’s less than five minutes on foot to the beachfront and its paid bagno, or about 15 minutes to a stretch of free beach. The airport is a 25-minute walk or roughly ten minutes by bike, and there are plenty of Lime scooters and bikes nearby. Restaurants are close, Lidl is about 15 minutes away on foot, and the metro station is nearby too. I took it to Rimini’s main station, then caught a bus for a day trip to San Marino. I booked a single room but got a double as a nice surprise. It was small, affordable, and clean, with a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom, and towels changed daily. Hand wash and shower gel were provided, as were iced tea on arrival and a few biscuits. There’s a little elevator if you don’t want to take the stairs or have mobility issues. My room also had a small balcony with seats and a line for hanging laundry, plus blackout blinds that made it properly dark for sleeping. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and as a woman travelling alone I felt safe there. The one real downside was the thin walls. The neighbours’ TV kept me awake until 2am. The listing does say it isn’t soundproof, so bring earplugs. They could also suggest guests keep the TV low or switch it off after midnight. Still, it’s a decent low-cost place with a clean room.

We found the room a little too small for us, though it was very clean. The team and service were top tier, and you can get to everything you need without a car. If you want to go into Rimini, there’s a bus stop near Arlino. I recommend Arlino!
