Hotel San Paolo

We'd already paid, so we stayed for just one night. The place bore no resemblance to its advertised photos, and I've never had an experience like this after years of traveling. The front desk wasn't there at all. On arrival, a sign sent us across the street to another hotel to get the keys. The building seemed abandoned and dirty. Our first room was unacceptable, and when we complained they moved us to one that was only a little cleaner. Breakfast was at the other hotel too. A complete scam, in my view. I don't recommend it.

Thankfully Federico was there to help people who get locked out of their rooms. At 1:43 tonight, he was ready to let us in, unlike the older man at reception who'd said it wasn't possible.

Pina, the housekeeper, is always helpful and very professional at her job. Federico is one of a kind, both personally and in the way he does his work.

For a three-star hotel, it has very little that feels three-star. The one good thing is how close it is to the sea, and the price. The rooms are poorly soundproofed, the sheets are always dirty, and there's limescale everywhere. Bathrooms lack hygiene, and in every room the bathroom door won't close.
