Hotel Tre Assi

Good choice for a night or two, with easy access to the beach and nearby restaurants.

The breakfast was bad, the air-conditioning was weak, and there was no sea view.

My mother and I booked two rooms for a week, from very late July to early August, with full board, meaning breakfast, lunch, and dinner with drinks included during meals. The booking also included access to the partnered beach resort, Bagno 137, Dolores, with two sun loungers and one shared parasol for the two of us. This was our first extended stay in Rimini, and the town disappointed us. Despite all the tourism marketing, it didn’t have the buzz we expected. Most shops around the area were empty or Bangladeshi-owned. The weather wasn’t great, but of course that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The owners, a mother and son, and some of the staff didn’t make us feel welcome. One afternoon, the owner’s elderly mother nearly refused entry to my longtime friend from Germany, saying it was for safety. When I brought it up with her son that evening, he basically agreed with her. I was astounded. The hotel restaurant staff, both front and back of house, were not Italian and didn’t really listen when we asked for specific dietary preferences. The food wasn’t worth praising either, just average canteen-style Italian food. After 10 pm, an elderly night guard from Southern Italy was on duty, but he fell asleep during his shift and we had to wake him whenever we wanted to go out. We also couldn’t have friends visit our room for a few hours at night. Had I known, I would never have booked. The hotel wasn’t well equipped for disabled tourists like us. We had problems with parking and the rooms on the first day. The beach resort was farther away than expected, almost 700 m from the actual sea. Because we’re disabled, we couldn’t fully enjoy the few sunny, decent-weather days that week. I’d recommend the hotel only to families with children on a budget and able-bodied retirees. Next summer, I hope we’ll find a more accessible resort, likely outside Italy. My childhood memories of spending summers at Lido di Spina or Cervia don’t seem to match Italy today.

The service is impeccable, with friendly, professional people who make you feel looked after. The location works perfectly for both the sea and the center of Miramare. The rooms may be small, but by the sea I only need somewhere to sleep, change, and relax, and that’s always worked for me. Lunches and dinners are good, varied, and generous. They’re happy to serve an alternative if you ask, though it’s up to the person ordering not to keep demanding more. I’ll definitely come back next year. Thanks to everyone who manages the property.
