Hotel Villa Lorena

For a low price, it’s a pretty good place to stay. The hosts are pleasant, and you’re close to the sea.

I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re desperate for somewhere to sleep. There’s a really unpleasant smell, the beds are incredibly uncomfortable, and the ground-floor windows have no bars. The rooms are an okay size, and the bathroom is the one decent feature. Air conditioning costs 5 euros per night.

We were lucky to stay just one night. The room flooded after we showered, and when we called housekeeping, the man pulled a handful of long hair out of the drain, then blamed us for blocking it with a slipper. He denied it had been clogged, even though we’d just watched him remove the mess. The towels were torn, badly worn, and stained, and the sheets were stained too. The rooms were reasonably clean, but poorly maintained, as was the bathroom. Most of the staff were rude, apart from the young woman and the lady.

When I asked on our last day if I could use the bathroom at reception, I was told to go outside. That pretty much summed up the welcome here. My room was dirty, with dust everywhere, and mice ran around on the balconies. The security was pitiful too. Then there was the closet door that nearly fell on me. I thought it was an accident and tried to put it back, but a staff member came over and sarcastically said it must have fallen by itself. After I explained, he replied, “What a shame that door didn’t fall on you.” Shockingly rude. I won’t set foot here again. It was truly disgusting, and I strongly advise against staying. This place doesn’t even deserve one star.
