New Hotel Jolie

For a three-star place, I'd give it five. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable for sleeping, and there's a small lounge with a bar where you can have a drink. Breakfast is simple but good. The restaurant is good value too: for 15€, you get pasta, salad, a veal main, dessert, coffee, and half a liter of wine. If you want somewhere to sleep near the action, with the option to eat there, this is a decent choice.

The only real downside was parking. There aren't enough spaces near the hotel. Otherwise, I recommend it. The beach is about a 10-minute walk, and the historic center takes around 20 minutes to reach on foot. We stayed at New Jolie for two nights with half board, and it was just perfect. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but cozy and clean. The staff are nice and helpful. Their English could be better, but we managed to sort out everything we needed. The cuisine is the best part, especially the great pasta and seafood. Dinner has four courses, with two or three choices for each one. Breakfast leans more sweet than savory, which is normal in Italy.

The staff couldn't have been nicer, and there was more than enough food. Our first room, number 12, was basic but clean. The shower was awful, and the tiny balcony looked over the bins and kitchen, so the room smelled at those times. We asked to move to a room with a proper balcony away from the bins, and were happy to pay the difference. The room we got did have a working shower, but no balcony as we'd requested.

We stayed six nights in a room called deluxe, though nothing about it felt deluxe. The bathroom was so tiny I could barely move around, and the mattress was horribly uncomfortable. There was no sound insulation, and the room doors made things worse: other guests kept slamming them and drinking in their rooms and on the balconies. I could hear everything as if they were right beside me. There was no quiet policy at all, and I didn't sleep during my vacation. Not worth three stars, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
