Sovrana Hotel & SPA

I was on a work trip and felt completely at home at the Sovrana. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a small balcony, and the breakfast had loads of healthy, tasty options. The hotel is near the beach but tucked onto a little side street, so there was almost no traffic noise. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the breakfast staff. One staff member even lent me his personal umbrella in a rainstorm. They also had no problem arranging a later checkout so I could get ready for my trip home. I’d happily return and highly recommend it.

The staff were amazing, the hotel was beautiful and very accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. It’s close to the private beach, which you do have to pay for, and to the best restaurant I’ve tried here, Bounty. Everything was impeccable, and I’d definitely come again.

We’d originally booked a house in Calabria, but after a few problems we left and headed to Rimini on the spur of the moment to save our holiday. After the long drive I forgot to take the cooler out of the van, and by morning the battery was dead. I had only five hours to find a mechanic before the public holiday and Saturday, with our departure set for Sunday. VW roadside assistance and ADAC both left me stranded. Thanks to you, Giulia, and your personal contacts, a friend of yours came by and fixed the problem, so we could leave as planned. That was a huge help. I also appreciated the sustainable food and the care taken throughout Hotel Sovrana. It was clean, welcoming, and animal-friendly, and your dog was a big favorite with my boys. Our holiday had been chaotic before we arrived, but staying with you turned it into something wonderful. Thank you again for everything.

The staff made this stay for me. Weeks ahead, they agreed to a favor I asked, and they accommodated my needs through several booking changes while I planned a long trip ending in Rimini. I arrived a couple of hours before check-in, but they still let me into my room. If I come back to Rimini, I’d choose this hotel again, perhaps to spend more time relaxing there. My thanks to all the staff, especially the massage therapist. You’re the best. The location was very convenient, a stone’s throw from Rimini’s promenade for evening walks. Bus 11 from the train station reaches stop 13, Derna, near the hotel in about ten minutes, and the same bus goes to Rimini’s historic center. I had a single room with a balcony. It was quiet apart from a brief bit of noise from guests in the landing area. The shutters blocked almost all daylight, which I really appreciated as someone sensitive to light, and I slept well. The bed was very comfortable, especially the pillows. Two things didn’t work for me: the blanket had a papery feel, perhaps because of its cover, and the bathroom felt cramped. The door touched the sink, so I had to move sideways to get in and out. I’d suggest reworking it with a walk-in shower and smaller sink. Breakfast was excellent, particularly the savory options like omelettes and piadinas. I liked that it wasn’t self-service, to reduce food waste and for hygiene. Still, I saw one guest take a croissant with bare hands, so I’d suggest putting all the food behind a barrier. I’d booked a watsu, a massage in the water, because I wanted to try something new. I didn’t catch the therapist’s name properly, but she was gentle and made sure I felt comfortable and was floating throughout. The 20-minute extra massage was a lovely surprise, and her hands worked wonders on my neck and back.
