Appartamenti Rio Marina

The owners were very kind, and for Elba the price seemed reasonable, though I doubt you’ll find somewhere cheaper in town. The hotel is simple and a little old-fashioned, but it’s in a lovely, peaceful spot overlooking Rio Marina and the harbor. It sits outside town, with the center about a ten-minute walk away. The rooms have air conditioning. Breakfast could use more variety and fewer packaged items. The final road up to the hotel is narrow and steep. Drivers should take care, and anyone walking will need strong legs for those last few dozen meters.

It’s quiet here, just beyond the center of Rio Marina, and the view from the spacious, comfortable apartment is fantastic. The owner was really kind. Just be aware that getting up there means a steep, narrow climb with several bends. It’s manageable, though a large car needs care.

We picked this little hotel for our three days on the island and I’m really glad we did. The staff were so friendly, they made me feel at home. The rooms are plain but clean, and there’s a sea view from the balcony. You can cook there, though the cleaning lady said guests are responsible for washing the supplied utensils themselves, so who knows how well that gets done 😅. Otherwise, it deserves 4 stars. Congratulations!

The owner was so kind and helpful, and the house was comfortable and easy to get to. It’s just outside the city center, with a lovely harbor view. Great amenities too, including air conditioning, laundry facilities, and a huge shower. We had a perfect stay and would happily come back. Highly recommended!
