The best part was the spectacular terrace view. At night, the pedestrian area was so quiet that all we heard was the sea. Simona was very kind and helpful, and she mentioned a renovation was coming up. As things stand today, though, the apartment has a lot of shortcomings. Water could drop to a trickle or stop altogether during busy hours. The kitchen was poorly equipped, depending on what you're used to, but its small and medium pans weren't enough for cooking for four. There was no iron, and we had very little room or gear for drying laundry. With four of us and our beach towels and bathrobes, we struggled to hang everything. The terrace railing and hangers on the shutters and doors helped. The clothesline outside the window couldn't be reached because of the garbage bins, and the few clothes pegs were in poor shape. There weren't cleaning products for the bathroom, floors or kitchen. Waste sorting wasn't clearly explained. We got instructions at check-in but not which waste went where, and there was no guide posted in the apartment. The collection days were listed, but containers for all kinds of waste were missing. The alleys were full of rubbish put out on the wrong days or sorted incorrectly, so this seems to be a wider problem. The bed sagged inward and was warped lengthwise, making it hard to get up and leaving me sleeping diagonally to keep my balance. I hadn't expected a mattress like the one at home, but this was a lot. The bathroom was also very small, with a tiny shower, the smallest fixtures I've ever seen, and too few places to put things.
