The garden pizza evenings and trips Karin and Gilles arrange have introduced us to so many lovely people in Ripa. We’ve also enjoyed getting to know other locals and wandering around the nearby towns and countryside. My family has roots in Ripabottoni, so it’s a place we love returning to, and we always stay at Art & Breakfast. Karin and her partner Gilles feel like friends now. The rooms are great, the gardens are magnificent, and Karin somehow covers everything from hosting and cooking to planning outings. We can’t wait to come back.

We were lucky to find this lovely place during an unexpectedly sad trip back to Ripabottoni with my daughter. Karin and Giles made us feel very welcome, and even our friends who dropped in were treated warmly. The restored B&B is beautiful and respectful of its origins. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a lovely private bathroom, and the garden dining area, with fruit trees and grapevines, was so relaxing. Breakfast was wonderful, with homemade breads and jams, local cheeses and more. Wine and soft drinks were available at very fair prices. Our hosts were kind, hardworking, and gave us helpful suggestions whenever we asked. You’ll be glad if you find an opening here while visiting Molise.

The host was super friendly and gave us useful tips about the area and places we planned to visit. She offers a good experience in a town where making a living can be tough, and the home itself is nice. Breakfast was high quality, but as a vegetarian I found the serving small for four people. We weren’t asked about dietary needs or preferences, and I would have liked a chance to request eggs. I also hadn’t realized there was no air conditioning. I should have checked the website more carefully, though it didn’t mention AC either way. I was traveling with two 80-year-olds and had been trying to book only rooms with it. His mother also found the towels very scratchy.

Ripabottoni is such a clean, quiet, friendly town, with a little bar in the square and a nearby trattoria serving delicious rustic food. There’s lots of history to explore on foot. Karin and Gilles looked after us beautifully in this well-kept historic place. Our room was comfortable, the garden was lovely, and breakfast was delicious. They also worked around our timing, and Karin went out of her way to help me find information about my family. We loved this gem and hope to return.

Karin was wonderful throughout. I emailed a few months ahead, and she made booking easy, arranged dinner reservations, and took care of our special requests. She speaks English and helped translate for us several times.
