It has a sweet, old-fashioned design and feels really cozy. I’d definitely recommend staying here, it feels like a lovely home.

The terrace was gorgeous, even if Mount Etna gave us rain instead of lava. Lina welcomed me so warmly, and thanks again for that delicious dinner. The whole place is furnished with so much care and style, and the hosts trust their guests. Everything was clean, even the laundry smelled wonderful. I slept like a king. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. I’ll be back on my next Sicily holiday, I promise.

From the terrace loungers you can take in Mount Etna, and in summer the plumeria scent drifts through the gardens and terraces around town. Riposto is a lovely seaside town in the Ionian-Etna area, with the marina nearby and the historic center right there. Kemmare B&B makes a great base for the Etna villages, Sicilian Baroque towns, and Catania, about a twenty-minute drive away. I came back for the third year in a row, and it still feels special for its elegance, comfort, harmony, originality, and strong Sicilian identity. It’s also a relaxed, family-friendly place. The four rooms each have their own character and come with fine linens and high-quality bath towels. The amenities and cleanliness go beyond what I’d expect from a B&B, even for an international, sophisticated clientele. The owners, Dr. Giuseppe, Dr. Lina, and their daughter Sonia, look after their guests with warmth and professionalism, making it easy to relax and enjoy Sicily’s traditions and beauty. Sonia runs the B&B, is lively and friendly, makes wonderful breakfasts, and is always ready with suggestions for places to visit. Kemmare feels like a way of life. A holiday on Mount Etna’s slopes wouldn’t feel authentic without time in this lovely corner of paradise.

Breakfast at Kemmare is almost a meal in itself, carefully made, with granitas and different homemade desserts. The terrace solarium is a great spot for sunsets over Mount Etna. I felt right at home here, and the room was beautiful, spotless, and decorated with classic Sicilian touches. Exceptional.
