The garden and pool are lovely places to unwind after a hike or a day at the beach, which is only 1 km away. Le Grotte is surrounded by palms, lemon trees, and old prickly pear plants, yet it's well placed for visiting Mount Etna and its ancient towns, Taormina, and Catania, all about a half-hour drive away. I came back to Sicily after a few years away and felt connected to the place again straight away. Le Grotte is a renovated 19th-century Sicilian manor house, with four comfortable, spacious rooms furnished in a rustic style that made me feel at home. Alfio is warm and welcoming, and, if asked, will treat guests to Sicilian dishes like an excellent chef. Thank you, Alfio and Rosa, for your generosity. This will always be my place to return to when I'm in the area.

You'll need a car or motorbike, since the B&B is out in the countryside. With one, it's a convenient base for Mount Etna, the Catania area, and Taormina, each within about a 30-minute drive. We found the rooms clean, and the owners were friendly and helpful. Mr. Alfio made us feel like welcome guests, not just customers. A great place if you're after some peace and quiet.

We had a wonderful stay in this place, tucked into greenery and with a fantastic view. The rooms are spacious and come with everything you need. If something's missing, just ask Alfio, the owner. It's a relaxing spot with easy access to the highway, which makes getting around simple. You can see there's a lot of potential here.

The food deserves a mention. We asked about lunch when we arrived and were served fresh, delicious farm-to-table dishes, including pasta that was world-class. Alfio was so kind and welcoming throughout, and the rooms were new and clean. It's a charming place, just a few kilometers from the main attractions. Thanks, Alfio. We'll be back next year. A comfortable, welcoming room and a B&B that was spotless and very quiet. Cleanliness really matters, and it's not always a given these days. The welcome and helpful service were excellent, and everything was well run. We had a lovely weekend and expect this to be our base from now on.
