Hi Hotels Riva del Garda

The staff were very kind and the place was clean, but the condition of the building was questionable. The photos gave us a very different impression from what we found. Our supposed “lake view” was barely visible because the room actually faced an inner courtyard where the trash bins were kept. Around 9 p.m., glass waste was emptied there. There were big gaps where the floor met the walls, with no skirting boards, no shelves in the wardrobe, and the bathroom grout was in terrible shape. I can’t speak for the other rooms, but the photos are absolutely misleading. The biggest disappointment was the gas station right next to the building, which wasn’t shown on the hotel profile and had been completely EDITED OUT of the picture. I wish they paid as much attention to the inside as they do to the outside.

Just a few minutes’ walk from the lake and about 10 minutes from Riva’s historic center, with free parking and a very good price. The staff were friendly, Wi-Fi worked well once logged in, and breakfast was quite good. Our room was spacious and had a terrace, and the bathroom was big with a bathtub. I’d likely stay there again if I visit Riva.

It was very cheap, and I appreciated the free breakfast, but it wasn’t especially nice. The bed was two twin beds pushed together, and we kept falling into the gap. The underground garage is extremely tight, and the ramp is dangerously steep unless you have a very small car. The front desk person left at 8 p.m. without explaining how to check in or how to contact them.

The garage is really small, and breakfast was more or less okay, though they could improve the orange juice and coffee. There was a nice selection of fruit and tea. The location was great, and the staff were among the best I’ve met at a hotel. They tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and when we needed to leave early, they arranged breakfast for 6:30, an hour earlier than usual.
