Podere Scopaione

The garden was immaculate, and the whole family made the most of the big, well-kept pool. For the little ones there are playgrounds, bikes to explore the area, and a large chicken coop that was a real hit. We also used the barbecue and washing machine. Our cottage at Podere Scopaione was comfortable, clean, welcoming, and had everything we needed. It was the most secluded one on the property, with a semi-private garden that was especially useful with our toddler just starting to walk. We stayed for 15 days and had a wonderful time. The location is very quiet and handy for exploring. When we arrived, the owner sent a list of restaurants, beaches, and places to see. We tried local specialties at several nearby restaurants and made it to Follonica and Siena. Staying at the property was peaceful, though there was also a chance to socialize with other guests. We became friends with two families and exchanged contact details. The owners don’t live on site, but they’re nearby and were there whenever we needed something. I asked to replace two pillows that were too thin for me and requested a hairdryer, and both arrived the same day. They also provided a travel cot and high chair at no extra charge. I especially loved chatting early in the morning with the always-smiling man who looked after the chickens and land. He shared the history and wonders of that wonderful area with such love and passion. We found kindness, helpfulness, professionalism, warmth, and peace here. We left our hearts there and will definitely return.

The market and the sea aren’t too far, though you’ll need a car. We spent a few years here with our small children, and the memories are still vivid even though we now holiday somewhere other than Tuscany. The apartments stay cool in summer, the pool is always spotless, and the steps and gate separating it are ideal with kids. There’s also a small, well-kept play area, several stone barbecues, and outdoor tables under the mulberry trees that are great for meals in the shade. One year we had serious problems and had to give up a week to return home quickly. We didn’t ask for a refund and weren’t entitled to one, but the following year they didn’t charge us for that week. After all these years and all the places we’ve been, we’ll never forget their kindness and humanity. Want to relax? Come here!

A lovely farm, run so well by Kety and her wonderful family. Our week here was truly relaxing. At the rooster’s crow in the morning 🐔, we only had to look out the window to see a sunrise over the Maremma full of color. The sunsets were just as lovely. See you soon!

The family’s kindness and willingness to help deserve special mention. Four of us friends spent a week in the “Tramonto” apartment at Podere Scopaione and found it comfortable and clean, with a lovely pool and greenery cared for all around the house. It’s a peaceful place to unwind. Enchanting medieval villages are just a few minutes away by car, there are several nearby trattorias serving local food, and the sea is easy to reach.
