We felt disgusted by the service after a disturbing experience. The receptionist knew we were in our room but entered with the hotel master key without knocking while I was completely naked getting dressed for an event. He gave me a creepy smile, then smiled at us again as we left. We raised it with him calmly and asked for an apology, but he was reluctant. The manager immediately tried to make excuses, though a woman there said they should apologize. I don't think this hotel is safe for women. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a wife or daughter.

I had left a 1 star review after staying at Hotel Mediterraneo in Reggio Calabria, and was upset to see the manager's or admin's reply tell a false version of events and blame us. I normally would have let it go, but I want to warn people. That response showed me no empathy for customers even when the hotel is in the wrong. To be clear, my husband was lying on the bed using his phone while I ironed my dress, fully naked because I was ironing what I planned to wear. I hadn't asked for an iron, since I was already ironing. The receptionist never knocked, and my husband didn't open any door. He would not have done that if either of us were undressed. The receptionist opened the door and saw me naked. My husband jumped out of bed, furious that he hadn't knocked, and the receptionist said he was 'testing' the keys. He knew we were upstairs because we'd returned to rest and then get ready for our event 30 mins before it happened. He showed no remorse, and instead another receptionist apologized for him. Their Google review reply said we'd asked for a discount, which is false. We never asked for a discount. That was the least of our worries. We wanted basic human decency and an apology from the receptionist. Let their response be a warning to everyone.

We had a really good few days at this Hotel in 2011. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the very friendly staff, from the receptionist to the waitress in the breakfast room. Kind regards from Wien (Vienna).
