Villaggio Club Cala Verde

Good value, and close to a beautiful sea.

The pools are lovely and well cared for, and the beach nearby is clean. Both the affiliated beach and the public one are very beautiful. Pets are welcome and treated with respect, provided they're supervised and kept on a leash. We've stayed here two years in a row, and the resort is well maintained, clean, and well supervised. The apartments are comfortable, each with a private garden separated only by flowerbeds, though they feel a little dated. Even though the resort is very large, the two-floor accommodations feel quite private. They have an internal semi-spiral staircase, which isn't suitable for elderly guests or very young children. I'd avoid the week of August 15th because there are too many "mao mao" around. Those from Naples will understand, and for everyone else, they're loud, intrusive, and unpleasant.

The village itself isn't bad, but we may not come back after this. August 2025 was probably our last time. The sea seems less clean each year, and the accommodations were extremely dirty when we arrived, with bugs in the sheets. The dishes were extremely dirty too. Pool water was muddy for 2-3 days, and the small pool had a constant sewer smell. There's no market on site, and the nearest one charges ridiculous prices, like €5 for a 220g jar of Nutella. There are no washing machines in the accommodations. The single machine for the whole village costs €5 per wash. All of this for ONLY €1,700 a week. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

Copanello Bay was the biggest surprise. The Ionian Sea beaches can look very similar, but with Mount Coscia running down to the water, this place feels like being on the coast, with crystal-clear water and welcoming beaches. The resort itself was a wonderful discovery and gave us two weeks of complete relaxation. The houses were well furnished and practical, and the beach was no more than a five-minute walk away. The entertainment team was excellent, working hard without being intrusive. There's also a beautiful, very large pool and a great bar with reasonable prices, kudos to you. I think I'll definitely come back someday.
