The staff were nice, and the view was lovely. If you’re into exploring ruins, this is a great place to stay.

We mostly used the property as a place to sleep. The rooms are rustic but well arranged, with their own terrace, and there’s a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The pool is open in the warmer months, and the location makes it easy to get to lots of destinations. The initial cleaning was done before we moved in, but nobody came back to clean after that. Reception closed at 7:00 PM, and since we left each morning for our planned outings and returned in the evening, there was no way to ask for anything. They also didn’t explain what to do about breakfast, so I don’t know if it was included. We always went out for breakfast instead.

The only good part was that they quickly changed our apartment when we arrived and found the assigned one flooded in both the kitchen and bedroom. The replacement was one of several apartments sublet in a condominium. Reception was terrible. We got no information about activities nearby, even though it’s a green location, and there was no help at night. A very annoying, noisy cricket had got in through the small balconies, which had clip-on mosquito nets. We called reception, but they didn’t respond until 9:00 a.m. the next day, so we spent the night awake. The on-site restaurant didn’t respond either. If you expect somewhere quiet like Rocchetta Alta, keep in mind there’s resort-style entertainment until at least midnight.

The entertainment team kept us going for four days of pure fun. They were friendly, kind, and genuinely lovely. The serving staff were another highlight, so helpful and warm, and the chef was friendly too. We chose full board, and every meal left us satisfied, with a varied menu and authentic flavors. The cuisine was excellent. We came for the November 1st long weekend. From check-in, the staff were competent, helpful, smiling, and elegant. Our rooms were really mini-apartments, clean and practical, with comfortable beds, a large bathroom, and a remarkable mountain view. And the residence manager was a truly wonderful person. We’ll definitely be back.
