The kids had a great time with the heated full-size indoor pool, hammocks and swings in the garden, and even the little lizards on the walls. For me, the local home-style meals, good coffee and a glass of wine waiting after each trip were highlights, as was Tania’s helpful travel advice every day. We stayed at Cuccaro Club for a few days on a summer trip with our three kids and fell in love with it. Tania and her team make you feel cared for and welcome. After hot days on the Ligurian coast, the forest, cool air and complete silence were just what we needed to recharge. At night, the sky was full of stars without city lights.

From the outside it first seems small, but the hotel is full of lovely surprises: places to relax, a huge heated pool, an outdoor pool, play areas for kids, and romantic corners where you can just share a glass of wine. Set among the mountains and forest, it felt like home. The family running it were so welcoming and treated us like their own. Thank you, Tanya! You were part of our honeymoon, and we’re sure we won’t forget it. All the best to you and your family. I hope the hotel thrives even more.

I spent one night there in the summer of 2012. It’s a bit far from town, almost at the top of the mountain, but once I arrived, the experience really impressed me. It’s a family-run place. The room was a little small, but very clean, with artistic wall paintings and decorations. My brother and I enjoyed the restaurant food. The owner’s daughter was very kind. In the morning, the buffet was lovely, with sunlight coming through the many windows and lots of home-cooked buns and cookies. I really enjoyed the Italian coffee too. Highly recommended for a local Italian experience!

The kitchen was a highlight: generous portions, fair prices and a different menu every day, with lots of genuine dishes to try. The staff were friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. We spent three nights at Cuccaro Club in a pine forest on the mountain, where the breeze was refreshing on hot summer days. There’s a huge heated indoor pool and a smaller outdoor one for cooling off, with plenty of sunbeds and seating areas. Our almost-four-year-old enjoyed the slides and games both inside and outside. The road up has loads of turns, so take it slowly if you get carsick. One road is closed too, so ask them for the right directions to avoid wasting time on the wrong side of the mountain. I can only recommend the place.
