Capital Inn

I booked a week after being taken in by the pictures, but I couldn't stay even one night. The old-style rooms were dirty and depressing, the bathrooms disgusting, and I found bedbugs in the bed. I took pictures as evidence. The staff were rude, and they refused to refund me after charging for the full week. It was my first trip to Italy, and this left me really disappointed. It was a horrible place to stay.

The room we were given wasn't ready, even though the front desk said it was. The sheets had only been tucked in, not changed, and someone had definitely slept on them. We got fresh pillowcases, at least. The bathroom looked as if a hairwolf had used it before us: filthy towels and rags, with hair all over the floor. After we complained, housekeeping spent five minutes fixing it up, so you can imagine what it looked like afterward. The front desk manager even said this was their nicer room. What a joke. The hotel is so outdated it could be a museum of early hospitality, and the front desk staff were rude and arrogant. Breakfast the next morning was like something from a monastery, so buy something decent at the supermarket next door. I can't believe a place like this exists in the EU in the 21st century. Avoid it if you don't want to get sick from the filth.

The breakfast was bad, and there wasn't always hot water in the shower. For WiFi, they wanted 5 euros for three hours, even though it's 2020. In my view, this doesn't deserve four stars, or even three. I wouldn't return.

We had a lot of space, a big bed, and nice sheets and towels. The room was old but clean. Still, for a budget night or two, it's only just okay. The old furniture and bathroom, weak old air conditioner, and poor sound insulation were downsides. Staff weren't rude, but their manner felt cool rather than welcoming. Breakfast was very poor: bread, cheese, ham, milk with some additions, croissants, and bad coffee, with nothing else. The fridge cost extra. WiFi also cost extra, and even after we paid, we couldn't connect from the room because the signal was poor. It worked in the corridor, and they did refund us, which was good. It barely feels like a two-star place, not four, and left a bad impression of Italy.
