Fairy Tales Ostia

The owner was very friendly and available around the clock, and the apartment had air conditioning and two bathrooms, which could be useful for a group of six. But several things made the stay difficult. The apartment was in an unpleasant, dirty area of Rome. It isn't far from the beach, though walking meant dealing with sidewalks covered in rubbish and feces. Inside, the floors were loose and raised, uncomfortable under bare feet. The living room shutter, by the sofa bed, didn't work, so sunlight came in from 6 a.m. and made it hard to sleep. One bedroom had no AC, and the unit in the other wasn't strong enough to cool the room in summer. The fridge only kept drinks moderately cool after two days. The power went out six times over ten days, and using two appliances at once could blow a fuse. Hot water was inconsistent, though resetting the boiler on the outdoor terrace usually got it working again. The cutlery and dishes were appallingly dirty, with food and coffee grounds on them, so we had to wash everything before using it. Booking.com didn't show the actual photos, or at least not all of them. Also, when you submit both positive and negative feedback, the site only shows the positive part, which doesn't seem accurate to me. The owner couldn't meet us, which was a shame, and sent her father to collect a certain amount of cash without a receipt. Strange, but okay, we paid.

We felt really at home here. The apartment was spotless, the price was great, and the communication was clear and transparent. It's very close to the beach and well placed for getting to the different towns. We had such a good time and would happily book it again. Thanks for a wonderful stay, and best wishes from Anna. We recommend it to everyone!

The apartment was roomy, had everything we needed, and was near the beach and all the amenities. We had a great time last week and hope to come back soon.

The apartment was spotless and in a quiet area, with several attractions nearby. It honestly went beyond what I expected. The staff were warm and helpful around the clock, and I'll definitely return 😊
