Hotel La Giocca

The restaurant inside the hotel was a great experience, with delicious food and very kind, polite waiters. The place was very clean and nice. Thank you!

Breakfast meant going to the next building. It wasn't too far, but it added to the inconvenience. Reception also didn't greet us when we came in, say hello to let us know they were there for paying guests, or wish us a good day as we left. One of the evening reception ladies was friendly and helpful, though I forgot her name. The others weren't. Our friends each booked individual rooms and were given rooms at first, then moved the next day because the hotel wanted to free up larger rooms with bigger beds. They were put in smaller rooms with single beds. That would've been fine if they'd been given the smaller rooms from the start, but moving them a day later was an inconvenience, and the staff should have arranged the appropriately sized rooms in advance.

The room and bathroom were comfortable and had everything I needed. Breakfast could use a bit more variety, but that was my only other complaint. The hotel is in a nice part of north Rome, though the busy road is very close. Even with the windows shut, the traffic noise was loud enough that I didn’t sleep well. If you’re no longer used to city noise, I wouldn’t recommend it.

They even sorted out a taxi for us and packed breakfast to take along when we were in a hurry. The staff were really helpful with planning our day, too. There was a good range of authentic Italian food at breakfast, and the comfortable room’s AC kept it at just the right temperature.
