La Villa Del Patrizio

I couldn't pay by credit card, and the staff weren't able to help me arrange a taxi.

We stayed one night and found the rooms clean and air-conditioned. Ostia Antica park is close by car. The Bar/Pasticeria stays open 24/7, so you can get a bite or a beer whenever you arrive. The coffee and croissants are great in the morning too.

We were there from February 8th to 9th, and several problems made the stay very disappointing. The parking description said "free parking," but what we found was an unattended public lot beside a nearby 24-hour bar. Secure parking mattered to us, so we brought it up with the curly-haired lady who welcomed us. She responded sarcastically that "it's not necessary to specify on Booking whether it's secure or not." She repeated her view arrogantly and then walked off in the middle of the conversation. It felt unprofessional and dismissive of a legitimate concern. There were also problems in the room and bathroom. Water leaked onto the floor while I showered, suggesting a problem with the cubicle seal or drain. Two toilet paper rolls had already been opened, while others were unopened, which seemed completely unprofessional for a hospitality business. The toilet brush sat in dark, visibly dirty liquid. The rest of the bathroom and the floor were clean, and the closets and floors were clean too, but unpleasant sewage smells came and went throughout the day. The area was quiet, but that and the clean closets and floors couldn't make up for unclear information about services and poor hygiene. We definitely won't return.

The staff were very friendly, and the room was simple and clean, with working Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
